Stone Steps Over Creek
This mountain top home boasts gorgeous views but was difficult to access. There was no parking area at the front of the house and no way to reach the front door except to trudge up a steep hill. So the homeowners decided on a front yard makeover. They asked us to install a low maintenance creek, stairs up to the front of the house, and a new parking area. And, of course, all new plants with irrigation.
So we installed the creek with an auto-fill pump to keep it from running dry and lighting to highlight it at night. The flag stone steps have a little foot bridge where it crosses the creek. For the parking area, we built a small retaining wall complete with decorative lanterns and graded a relatively flat area for cars. After the irrigation was complete, we installed the plants and strategically placed boulders through out the garden.
