You don’t become premier designers and builders of the finest outdoor spaces without passion—for the work, for the people you work with, and for excellence in every aspect of the work you take on. Since ground was broken on Art of Stone Gardening in the year 2000, Suzanne and Jason Brosche (pronounced bro-SHAY) have grown these shared passions into a thriving, close-knit enterprise that has enhanced the beauty and functionality of more than 1,200 landscapes across North Georgia.
The friendships they’ve developed with clients and the professional relationships they’ve forged with colleagues have proved to be every bit as satisfying and long-lasting as the myriad projects on which they’ve left their signatures.
Suzanne combines deep horticulture and design expertise, keen business acumen and an artist’s eye in her principle role as professional landscape designer. She helps clients dream and articulate their wishes for their exterior spaces. Then she applies creative design techniques, functional solutions, hardscape elements and site-specific plant selections to deliver designs for sustainable environments and gracious outdoor lifestyles that invariably surpass expectations. Her experienced sourcing, purchasing and accounting practices keep projects on time and on budget.
Both teacher and life-long learner, Suzanne is a Georgia Certified Landscape Professional and an ISA Certified Arborist. She holds an applied science degree in environmental horticulture from Gwinnett Technical College, as well as bachelor of arts and master of business administration degrees. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Brenau University and Lanier Technical College and teaches classes for landscape and gardening programs throughout Northeast Georgia.
As a master stonemason, Jason has achieved the highest rank of craftsmanship in his field, beginning his formal training as an apprentice and learning the trade—literally—from the ground up. With more than two decades of experience throughout the Southeast, the founder and president of Art of Stone Gardening sets the bar for quality stone and rock work in Northeast Georgia’s finest outdoor living spaces. And the custom retaining walls, pathways and steps, creek beds, fountains and waterfalls he creates are much more than pretty faces in the landscape. They are meticulously engineered and skillfully installed to ensure safety and lasting functionality.
Jason is among an elite group of tradesmen to have received the Master Craftsmen Award, presented by Master Craftsman: Builders of America, part of Featherbone Communiversity’s Master Series Program in partnership with Lanier Technical College. Having learned the fundamentals of his trade through an apprenticeship, Jason is proud to serve as a local role model for young people considering careers in the ancient and revered art of stonemasonry.
Jorge, who also holds the highest rank of master stonemason, rounds out Art of Stone’s core team. He has an extensive background in both landscaping and construction and has worked side by side on stonemasonry projects with Jason for the better part of two decades. Beyond the artful aspects of the trade, Jorge joins Jason in being particularly adept at providing creative solutions to drainage and erosion challenges—a major asset in our Northeast Georgia service area.
